About Be The Change

Who We Are

Be the Change Community School (BTCCS) is a new high school opening in Fall 2024 with 100 9th & 10th-grade students. Co-created with the community, we pride ourselves on living our values.

What We Do

We believe in the innate potential of all. In order to create change in the world, we must illuminate and cultivate the gifts of our children, our community, and our ancestors. At BTCCS, education comes from understanding the strengths we already possess and the learning is added to those strengths. Our students, who we call Change Agents, develop confidence and pride in their unique identities that they use to impact society both now and in the future. They are learners, seekers, and doers who are being prepared to lead the change they want to see in our world.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for passionate, mission-driven, innovative, creative, flexible, and growth-minded people who want to do school differently. We do not view teachers as the all-knowing expert in the room, rather, as Cultivators whose responsibility is to ask questions of and guide our Change Agents on their journey toward academic, personal, and social exploration while they learn alongside students.

Creating change isn’t easy, so we need people who are ready to get messy and bring their talents for teaching and innovating to build something transformational. We aren’t looking for the run-of-the-mill educators, rather, if you’re a Cultivator who is passionate about engineering learning experiences, supporting the growth of others, and you value diversity, equity and inclusion in all aspects of work, BTCCS is the place for you.

Is this you?

Open Positions

We are driven by the ambitious mission of cultivating shapers of change to lead toward justice.  Our students are learners, seekers, and doers, all with the goal of developing their skills toward creating change, which is why we refer to students as Change Agents. We do not view teachers as the all-knowing expert in the room but rather as Cultivators whose responsibility it is to ask questions of and lead Change Agents on their journey of academic, personal, and social exploration.
